IN CROWD ZINE REVIEW OF BENDER ROYALE

'Oh how the punk rock scene is lacking grit these days! A brand of spitfire songs with a certain degree of Oi! style to boot would be a welcome addition to any collection of music looking for the true blue
heart of punk rock-n-roll. If any of what you just read seems like something you would say or think, then look no further than Brooklyn’s World War IX and their latest effort Bender Royale. This trash punk styled band presents 5 tracks that clock in at just under 8 total minutes. The cocky snarl of songs like “Sore Winner” as they sing “you are still an asshole even if you win” or their sarcastic tones on
“(We’ve Gone) Hollywood” embrace the “I don’t care attitude” of what punk rock is all about. For good measure World War IX also showcases their love of oi with “Oi Revult.” EP’s are a simple tool that bands
use to introduce music to listeners, but World War IX seem to be on a whole other mission to irritate some people, satisfy the old schoolers looking for something true to the core, and most of all, do it in such a quick period of time that if you love them you want more and if you hate them, they are happy they made you hate them in less than 10 minutes. There isn’t anything unique or earth shattering here, but
rather something refreshing that is simply straight forward, classic punk rock that is played exactly how it should be; loud, fast, and unapologetic. If you miss the original sound of the punk rock scene
and are looking to satisfy your itch with something new rather than the same old, worn out songs you’ve heard a million times, then give World War IX’s Bender Royale a spin.' (Jeffrey Kurtis)
